Transportation

Our office provides transportation to any VA medical appointment at Toledo CBOC , Ann Arbor VAMC, Sandusky CBOC, Lorain, Parma, and Louis Stokes VAMC.

Transportation Guidelines

All Sandusky County veteran passengers are to meet by the Veteran's County van in the public parking lot at the Sandusky County Service Center at 2511 Countryside Drive, Fremont, Ohio for transportation

Veterans may have their attendant ride in the Veteran's County van as long as it is pre-arranged and approved by the Sandusky County Veterans Office staff and does not take the seat from a veteran.

To ride the van to Toledo CBOC and Sandusky CBOC the appointment must not be later than 3:00 p.m. Appointments at the Ann Arbor VAMC and Cleveland VAMC must not be later than 2:00 p.m. Most days the van will arrive at the Toledo CBOC by 8:00 a.m., and arrive at Ann Arbor VAMC by 9:00 a.m., excluding inclement weather and/or adverse road conditions.

Compensation and Pension transportation must be pre-arranged between the office staff and the veteran according to the veterans scheduled C & P appointment. C & P appointment sheet must be brought to the office two(2) days prior of the scheduled appointment.

Use of tobacco products of any kind are prohibited.

Any food or bottled beverage is subject to the driver's discretion.

Seatbelts will be worn at all times.

As a courtesy to others, all passengers must maintain personal hygiene.

Veterans are responsible to assure no trash or personal belongings are left behind in the van.

If you have transportation scheduled for an appointment and you reschedule or cancel your appointment, you must notify our office immediately. If it is after hours leave a message include your name, last -4, appointment time, and a phone number.
